Chevrolet takes WTCC European finale

For the second consecutive year Chevrolet has made a clean sweep in the World Touring Car Championship. With three events still on the calendar, the Cruze cars built and run by RML, have already secured both the Manufacturers’ and Drivers’ titles.

Approximately 22,000 spectators gathered at the "Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo", Valencia, Spain, among them 24 of TRW’s VIP guests to witness Muller pull out all the stops to take a 16 point lead in Valencia on the final European leg of the WTCC championship.

Thankfully, a quiet weekend for TRW´s WTCC safety car driver Bruno Correia; although fully focussed during races, he was able to take a break and rest in the passenger seat as some lucky TRW visitors took the car for a spin around the circuit.

Points-wise, between the top three drivers – Muller, Huff and Menu – it’s still theoretically anybody’s title. However, continuing on the impressive trend of the latest three events, in which he claimed three pole positions and five race wins out of six, Yvan Muller has moved an almost decisive step towards a third WTCC crown.

The championship will resume in Suzuka, Japan, on October 23rd for rounds 19 and 20.
