Market Leading Innovation

The TRW innovation team have produced shock absorbers technology with four unique technical innovations:

• Over-moulded Teflon piston ring, creating a perfect cohesion between piston and ring, reducing wear and guaranteeing a prolonged driving comfort.
• Polish process technology for the rod, with a level of roughness below 0,08 microns. This creates a perfect seal and a great longevity.
• Valve discs technology. Precision is calibrated to 1/100 mm. Assures quicker response time and hence enhanced Safety.
• Damping precison thanks to elastic metal discs: Unique Tolerance performance <10% variation

Tested And Trusted

A comprehensive testing schedule, according to strict OE specifications, is carried out. Testing methods include:

• Low and high velocity tests, where the damping settings and associated ride comfort are regulated
• Endurance tests, to check the shock absorber for durability and behaviour during extensive period of operation.
• On each batch a part is tested on bench. Damping and dimensions are verified.
• All new part numbers are tuned to optimum handling performance in the course of road tests.
• Packaged in pairs for maximum safety

Easy To Find And Fit

The range includes all the different types of shocks required to meet your customers’ needs:

Complete Macpherson struts, strut inserts, conventional (Telescopic), shocks with spring seats, heavy duty, load compensating, and even steering dampers. The full range is identified as “Performance Gas” or “Hydraulic Plus” with the TRW logo branding on all shocks.

TRW has developed more than 70 specific, user-friendly, fitting instructions with practical mounting tips and all basic mounting accessories inside the box to ensure ease of fitting.
