WTCC & TRW driving safety

As the flag was lowered at the last 2010 World Touring Car Championships (WTCC) race in Macau, China, TRW announced it is to sponsor the WTCC safety car again in 2011. The business will also repeat its ‘race mechanic for the weekend’ competition and again extend VIP hospitality to its distributors across Europe, after the 2010 season proved successful and hugely popular on all counts.

2010 safety car driver, ex Formula Ford and Formula Renault racing driver, Bruno Correia, commented: “It has been both a pleasure and an honour to drive the safety car for TRW at all races.

“Sponsorship of the safety car was a first for the championship and a great way for TRW to convey the message of vehicle and road safety at every level. It really does place safety where it is needed most,” Bruno ended.

Race day at the Circuito da Guia, Macau on 21 November, provided much excitement
culminating in Chevrolet, TRW's hospitality partner for the WTCC, celebrating a double world title – a first for the championships - and drivers Huff and Michelisz sharing the podium.
