Handover of valuable golden brake pad

On a cold October day, the owner of the MANIX garage in Poland, Jacek Manicki, opened the door to a very welcome guest –  Tomasz Pedzikiewicz from TRW had arrived to hand over first prize in a competition to celebrate production of TRW’s hundred millionth brake pad; a golden brake pad worth a staggering 20,000 euros.

No joke
Jacek, who runs the business with his wife, thought it was a joke when he first heard the news. He commented: “I was totally speechless. Things like that just don’t happen to me!”

TRW parts since 2004
A tyre specialist until 2004, when through his relationship with TRW Jacek extended his service offer to braking and steering and suspension. Now operating as a full service garage, MANIX has eight work stations; one dedicated to heavy commercial vehicles.

Diverse car parc
“We deal with vehicles raging in age from two to over twenty,” said Jacek. “The Polish car parc is diverse with VAG, Fiat, Peugeot and Renault comprising the majority of our business. I’ve changed many brake pads, but until today have never touched a golden one! Thank you TRW for this amazing prize.”
