The growth of TRW easycheck
TRW easycheck has celebrated its second birthday with the software launch of version four, the addition of a one year update package and two new tools; one for dealing with engine management systems (EMS) and a premium combined EMS and service tool.
The range now comprises: the entry level service tool with one function of choice; the full service, seven function tool and the two new tools.
The new software contains 146 new applications for Toyota, Lexus, PSA, BMW and Mini.
Apart from the entry level tool, all other offers will come complete with a new tough plastic carrying case and a new multiplex cable, negating the need to purchase separate CAN cables.
Helen Sheasby, product marketing manager diagnostics, TRW Automotive Aftermarket Europe, said: “It’s all about giving the garages what they need to service as wide a range of vehicles as possible. To that end, we have included a level of Japanese coverage that we will continue to develop to capture a wider Asian car parc.”
Functionality available is as follows:
- Brake including antilock braking (ABS) and electric parking brake (EPB)
- Climate for dealing with climate control systems
- Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), including airbag and pre-tensioner systems
- Service, including service interval data and service light reset
- Steering Angle Sensor (SAS), essential to reset the steering angle for the stability control systems after any work on the front suspension
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) which allows the reset of automatic tyre pressure systems after puncture repairs, new tyre fitting or tyre rotation
- Scan which deals with live data, EOBD and manufacturer specific fault codes.
