Stronger boxes for the new heavyweight

TRW is to strengthen the product packaging for its heavy commercial vehicle programme, TRW Proequip, after the results of a customer satisfaction survey revealed that a stronger material was called for in some cases.
The storing of heavy stock on shelves highlighted a weakness in the packaging of a small number of product boxes.
With immediate effect, TRW will add reinforced cardboard inserts to ALL existing boxes
Following old stock exhaustion, all product packaging will be replaced with stronger, more durable material.
“Although this only affected an extremely small number of boxes, we felt it best to address the packaging for our entire range,” said TRW’s European channel marketing manager, Mark Thorpe.
“This is a good example of how close customer contact can help us to make improvements as the brand grows and develops. At TRW, we believe wholeheartedly in open, two way dialogue which can make things easier for our customers. We value the opinion of our customers and never take the standpoint that we always know best.”
Thorpe continued: “The TRW Proequip brand is proving to be extremely popular with the HCV market – becoming a true force to be reckoned with in this arena. With our customers ordering - and therefore storing more and more stock - we realized that packaging made of stronger material would help to ensure that the new heavyweight doesn’t break through!”
