Safety in numbers as Aftermarket business joins OE on IAA stand
Heavy commercial vehicle brand, TRW Proequip used its first visit to the IAA CV show in Germany to highlight its close partnership with the OE business, as it showcased a chassis systems parts portfolio, which included major technological innovations, and first to market product programmes.

The full steering and suspension (S&S) programme - including XCAP, a new design of tie rod end encompassing groundbreaking steering technology - was displayed on a scaled model Perspex truck on the stand.

“Enhancing performance and comfort with its reduced torque - coupled with a 20-year patent - XCAP is widely tipped to become he tie rod end of choice for the HCV’s of the future”, commented Mark Thorpe, TRW HCV expert. “Developed in house, XCAP is smaller, stronger and more durable than its predecessor.”
First to market
TRW introduced Europe’s first OE quality aftermarket steering gear programme in 2009. Following a stringent return process, the gears are subject to strict in-house remanufacturing procedures using only TRW OE repair kits.
