Green Praise from On-High
TRW gets a favorable mention in an article that appeared in an edition of the official Greenpeace magazine, investigating heavy metal free brake pads.
A market expert firmly contradicts a comment made by a spokesman from a leading automotive body - whereby it was suggested that heavy metals, such as copper, DO have a positive part to play in automotive brake pads - even though they make the pads more expensive to produce and are more damaging to the environment, by offering increased performance.
Greenpeace makes reference to the fact that TRW's aftermarket pads have been heavy metal free since 2000 Note: (TRW was the first aftermarket supplier to offer a complete heavy metal range well in advance of the anticipated ECE R90 regulations.)
The article states that in tests such as the Alpine and downhill, TRW's heavy metal free pads consistently performed to the max.
High praise indeed.
