Design change on VW Passat EPB caliper shows OE and aftermarket in tandem

The design of two brake caliper EPB part numbers, have been changed at OE level. To make life easier for the aftermarket customer, TRW has also updated the accessories: coming up trumps for distributors, garages  and VW Passat drivers everywhere. This latest idea illustrates that no problem is too much trouble to be investigated and no change too small to make if the outcome can be beneficial to customers.

When TRW’s OE engineers changed the EPB caliper design for two VW Passat part numbers, (changing the gear ratio by moving from a wobble plate to a planetary gear, to improve motor control) to assist Aftemarket customers, they kindly changed the appearance of the connector at the same time .

Giving the connector an additional groove and nose will prevent it being mixed up in the stock room or garage.

Now, that’s what we call a good idea.
