Anti Counterfeiting

Estimates suggest that product piracy costs the automotive industry 5-10billion Euros each year.

“As a manufacturer of safety critical, OE quality parts for the European aftermarket, we see it as our duty to address the issue. ”

“We believe our customers have the right to have absolute confidence in genuine product and trust in the manufacturer - and to be able to pass that reassurance on to the installer.”

“Legislation now dictates that responsibility lies with every link in the chain, so to the installer, having absolute assurance of the origin of a part is more important than ever.”

The Simple Route to Parts Protection

  • Product box labels contain unique 2D codes
  • Labels are applied at packaging source
  • Labels are scanned with PC and scanner connected to the Internet, or via a cell phone. Cell phone technology is developing fast. We recommend using Nokia phones. Currently all Symbian Series 60 or higher and all JAVA based mobile phones are compatible with available scanning software. You can find a complete list of supported phones at www.neoreader.com/pc.html. You can download free software from www.neoreader.com or directly from your cell phone by typing get.neoreader.com in your handset's web browser
  • Blackberrys and iPhones are not compatible
  • Scanned information goes to the ‘TecIdentify’ clearing hub for checking
  • TecIdentify sends a message – green (valid) orange (warning) or red (problem) to indicate the status of the product
  • For more information about the project, see: www.tecidentify.com
  • TRW one of a number of leading industry names participating
  • Project in line with recommendations made by CLEPA and launched at Automechanika 2008.
